Your wallet, your responsibility

Self-custody means no one else can recover your wallet for you — and no one can take it from you, either. A few habits go a long way.

SpacesWallet support will never ask for your seed phrase

If anyone — including someone claiming to be from LCFX — asks for your seed phrase, private keys, password, or 2FA codes, it is a scam. End the conversation immediately.

Back up your seed phrase

When you create a wallet, you're shown a 12-word seed phrase. This is the only way to recover your funds if your device is lost, stolen, or broken.

  • Write it down on paper — never screenshot it or type it into a cloud note.
  • Store it offline in a safe place, separate from your device.
  • Never share it with anyone, including support.

Verify before you send

Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Double-check the recipient address and network before confirming any send.

  • Paste addresses carefully — malware can swap clipboard addresses.
  • Confirm you're on the correct network for the asset.
  • Send a small test amount first for large transfers.

Keep your device secure

Your wallet is only as safe as the device it lives on.

  • Use a strong device passcode and biometric unlock.
  • Keep your operating system and the app updated.
  • Don't install apps from untrusted sources or jailbreak your device.

Using the app

General tips for common tasks in SpacesWallet on iOS and Android.

Creating or importing a wallet

On first launch, follow onboarding to create a new wallet or import an existing one with your 12-word seed phrase. Make sure you're in a private space when entering your seed phrase.

Sending and receiving

To receive, open the asset and share your address or QR code. To send, choose the asset, select the network, enter the recipient address and amount, then review fees before confirming.

Biometric unlock

Face ID or Touch ID locks your wallet when you're not using it. You can re-enable it any time from Settings if you change devices or biometrics.

Bitcoin Spaces

Discover and register @spaces — human-readable identity on Bitcoin Taproot. Purchase involves a quote, on-chain payment, and confirmation steps that the app walks you through.

If a transaction fails

Failed sends are usually due to insufficient funds for the amount plus fees, an incorrect network, or an invalid address. Check each of these and try again. Pending transactions need network confirmations and can't be cancelled.

Updating the app

Install updates from TestFlight (iOS) or Google Play (Android) as soon as they're available. Updates include security fixes and new chain support.

Lost or lost access to your device?

If your device is lost, stolen, or replaced, you can restore your wallet on a new device using your seed phrase.

Restore with your seed phrase

Install SpacesWallet on the new device, choose "Import wallet," and enter your 12-word seed phrase. Your balances and transaction history will resync from the chain.

No seed phrase?

Unfortunately, there is no password reset and no one — including LCFX — can recover a wallet without the seed phrase. This is the trade-off of self-custody, and it's why the backup step matters.

Suspicious activity

If you think your seed phrase may have been exposed, create a new wallet immediately and move your funds to it. Then email us so we can help you secure the new one.
